Over 83,000 security personnel on election duty

Around 83,000 police, STF and army personnel will be deployed on election duty from 6 a.m. tomorrow Inspector General of Police Mahinda Balasuriya announced. 

Among these are 58,877 police personnel, 19,800 army personnel and over 2000 STF members, he said. 

The IGP stated that more security personnel are being deployed in this election than the Presidential election held in January.
