Surgeons at the Kandy hospital have successfully transplanted the kidneys of a brain dead Tamil youth to two Sinhala youths today, at the request of the deceased boy’s mother.

Surgen P.K. Harischandra of the Kidney Transplant Unit of the Kandy hospital said the transplant was completed successfully and the mother of the Tamil boy has stated that she is happy that two lives were saved.
