Two wild life official are being detailed by villagers in Wilgamuwa who are demanding a solution to their problem of attacks by elephants on their houses and people.
The two officers were sent there to help to remove one of the villagers to hospital after he had fall during a hunger strike he was staging.
The man had fallen off the roof.
The Wilgamuwa Divisional Sect had sent his vehicle with a Deputy Director General in the region and another officer to help the injured person, but the villagers had detained the two officers who are demanding that the Director General of the Wild Life arrives there to resolve the issue.
Earlier the elephants had damaged a number of houses in the area.
