A number of military equipment including a cache of weapons which was hidden on a property on the Boraleskanda Road in Kosgama in Awissawella has been uncovered by the Police Special Task Force.

The Police Spokesperson Superintendent of Police Prishantha Jayakodi stated that the military equipment which had been cleverly hidden had been uncovered during a search operation that was carried out yesterday by the STF.

The items that were recovered included live ammunition, detonators and a locally manufactured firearm.
