Thewarapperuma released on bail

The Mathugama Magistrate courts today released UNP Kalutara District MP Palitha Thewarapperuma on bail today. He was arrested December 2009 for allegedly assaulting a secretary of a government minister.

The appeal court on August 23 granted him a personal bail of Rs. 25,000 and the Mathugama Magistrate today ordered his release.
