UNP Puttalam district MP elect Range Bandara, who was brutally attacked yesterday, underwent an operation at the Colombo National hospital last night and is now recovering at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Hospital sources said that the UNP member was receiving treatment for his injuries on his left arm, both legs and head sustained following the attack on him while he was at a meeting in Chilaw last evening.
Two other including a policeman, who were also injured in the attack, are receiving treatment at the Chilaw hospital.
Meanwhile the suspects, including UNP member Shantha Abeyratna, who were arrested over the attack, will be produced in Court today.
